I am an award winning, international photographer who was born in South Africa before the fall of apartheid. As a result of the social unrest going on in my country, my family opted to leave on an adventure. Subsequently, I spent many years of my childhood living and traveling on a sailboat, seeing the world from a rather unique perspective. The power and beauty of the ocean, the happiness, sadness, wonder, hope and despair seen on the faces of those I met during my travels around the world have played a major role in the development of my artistic approach and style.
My heritage is a unique blend of African mysticism, European traditionalism, multiculturalism, co-mingled with my athletic endeavors, extensive international travel experience and my sailing background. A part of each of these elements and experiences combine to give me my unusual perspective in the photographs I create.
Throughout my travels I have had the good fortune to meet some truly incredible people. The ones who are no longer with us have been the biggest motivator for me when it comes to capturing life’s most precious and fleeting moments. Make beautiful pictures of as many memories as possible, that’s my motto.
